Plans for fixed disability equipment in Oak Lodge

We plan to have more fixed disability equipment in Oak Lodge than in our other two lodges. This specialist equipment will help to provide a more comfortable stay for our disabled guests, and our investment will total nearly £20,000

Bedroom 1 will have a profiling bed plus a king-size bed. The bedroom is 20 x 16ft, allowing access to the profiling bed from either side with a minimum side access of 4ft. The ensuite bathroom will have a shower screen on a slideable curtain to facilitate easy access to the low profile 5 x 2.5ft shower tray by wheelchair users. There will be permanent drop-down rails around the toilet and grab rails in the shower.

Bedroom 2 will have a profiling bed and a single bed. The ensuite bathroom will have a 6 x 3ft low profile shower tray plus a permanent dropdown shower bed.

In the kitchen, there will be a permanent lowered section of work surfaces to provide an area where wheelchair users can prepare food with a separate basin for washing up.

As we continue to work on finishing Oak Lodge, I’m sure we’ll have some more ideas!

We offer basic disability aids and specialist disability equipment in our other two lodges. For more information, please visit our Disability Equipment page.

If you want to stay in our lodges and use our disability aids and equipment, call us to discuss your requirements. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have. We try to provide as personal a service as possible to ensure your chosen lodge meets your needs.
