What an amazing find. We were absolutely delighted with this wonderful well thought out and designed lodge, in such a quiet, peaceful location. There was so much space for the 7 of us, 4 adults, 3 children plus our 3 year old German shepherd. Each of the very big bedrooms has its own extra large en-suite with enormous shower area making this a superb property for anyone with mobility problems. Richard and Helen are the perfect hosts, they have thought of everything, right down to supplying hand wash, shower gel and cleaning products. Beautiful large decking area with huge wooden table and chairs, and a fabulous hot tub. If we could give a higher star rating than 5 we would. We highly, highly recommend this property.

Would definitely recommend. Took my 85 year old mum here for a week. Equipment for her was supplied free of charge a lovely rise and recline chair in the lounge so she could put her feet up. Richard and Helen go above and beyond to make your stay the best.

Stayed here Friday to Monday and we was overjoyed with the lodge, homemade honey and a box of chocolates on arrival. Every room is spacious with ensuite fo each bedroom and everything is thought of down to the last detail. Beds were so comfy and the bedding was divine, best nights sleep iv had in a good while. We can't wait to rebook and hopefully make it a regular place to visit. Plenty to do locally within a short drive and people are really friendly and kind. Peaceful beautiful rural location but close enough to towns with wonderfully informative hosts. We look forward to our next visit.

Just had a fabulously relaxing fortnight in Hawthorn Lodge. Huge lodge with absolutely everything you need and if by any chance you need another piece of equipment, Richard and Helen will do their best to get it for you. The lodges are set in very quiet and peaceful countryside - perfect for those needing respite. If you do want to get out and about, there is a wealth of information about local attractions etc. For doggies, try Ynyslas beach - fair drive but you can park on the beach and it's very dog friendly. Some fantastic pubs in the local area. The dogs had a great time too and will miss Richard and Helen's cuddles. All in all we had a brilliant time and have have already booked for next year!

Incredibly spacious and luxury lodge with plenty of room for 8 people and a dog. Hawthorn Lodge is by far the best lodge we’ve ever stayed in. We had a great weekend, and the kids loved the hot tub! Richard and Helen were great hosts, and even showed us their fascinating bee colony!

A beautifully presented property with 4 huge bedrooms and matching en-suites. Loads of parking and the family loved the hot tub. We were made very welcome on day 1 by Richard & Helen who have every reason to be very proud of the Lodges they have built. Would really recommend, especially to those with limited mobility. Decent walks around the local area, especially setting out from Rhayader. Lovely meals in The Lamb & Flag as well as The Severn Arms.

We had a relaxing lovely 4-day stay at Hawthorne Lodge for a family break. The cottage was spotless, spacious and fully wheelchair accessible, with everything we needed provided. Richard & Helen were helpful and welcoming and his local accessibility guide led us to the fantastic Lakeside Cafe. Highly recommend for a peaceful and accessible getaway.

Arrived Friday approx 5pm - wow - didn’t expect to be this big. Accessible, all rooms huge, plenty space, used wood burner lovely + warm, hot tub was useful with boys, can’t use the gantry hoist for daughter as it rained, but no worries - went into Llandrigdod Wells, went to a cafe, went for tea on Sunday to Lamb & Flag - lovely food. Hope to return in the future xx
