At Mid Wales Lodges we have a unique situation.

Our lodges have been custom built to be fully accessible, created specifically to accommodate those with special requirements. They are perfectly designed to provide a comfortable stay for disabled people, their families and carers.

Pre-booking visits welcome

We understand how important it is to ensure that the holiday accommodation you book meets the needs of you and the members of your group. Pre-booking visits are welcome if you would like to check out our lodges and facilities before making any formal booking arrangements. We are here to be as helpful as possible, so contact us to schedule a visit and please feel free to ask any questions that you may have.

Hawthorn & Lime Lodge

Lodge Access

Designed to allow easy access throughout by wheelchair, everything in the lodge is situated on one level. There are no internal thresholds and no internal steps.

Outside, the lodge is surrounded by 1.4m of decking, which is accessed from the car park via a large ramp area. Once on the decking, access to the lodge is via the entrance door which leads into the main room.

Patio doors in the main room lead to the large decking area with BBQ and hot tub. The large decking area is approx 15 x 4.8m. All decking is antislip treated.

The main room is open-plan and connected to the kitchen. In the kitchen, all units are accessible. Next door to the kitchen is the utility room.

The bedrooms are accessed via a large hallway leading from the main room and kitchen. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom and an external door.

All external doors are 880mm wide with threshold heights of 12mm. All internal doors are 880mm wide.

All plugs and light switches are at an accessible height, 900mm from the floor.

Room sizes

One of the most notable features of our lodges is that they are very large. The footprint of each lodge is 249 sq m, and all the rooms are generously sized:

Bedroom 1 | room size 4.6 x 6m

Bedroom 2, 3 + 4 | room size 4.6 x 4.6m

Bathroom 1 | room size 2.5 x 3.6m

Bathroom 2, 3 + 4 | room size 2.5 x 4.8m

There is space in each of the rooms to comfortably manoeuvre a wheelchair, and each room can easily accommodate extra equipment if required. The generous space in the main room means that wheelchair users can join the sofa area, and the dining table for mealtimes.

Bathroom facilities

All bathrooms are fully tiled and are designed as wet rooms. Each bathroom has a comfort height toilet with basin, and the floor level shower trays are easy to access and large in size.

Bathroom 1 | shower tray size 140 x 80cm

Bathroom 2 + 3 | shower tray size 180 x 90cm

Bathroom 4 | shower tray size 160 x 80cm
