New riser recliner chair arrived today

Our new riser recliner chair arrived today, delivered by Andrew of HWB Mobility, who supplied all the other disability equipment in our lodges. Check out this brilliant little video Andrew took of me getting to grips with the controls and testing out the new chair!

Riser recliners provide additional support to allow users to be more independent, and we are delighted that we now have one available on site for our disabled guests to use. They gently raise you from a reclined or seated position to almost standing. Comfortable and supportive, they are highly adjustable allowing you to change positions and relieve pressure.

We also have a Reflex Harmony riser recliner chair on order which should arrive in June.

This specialist equipment will help to provide a more comfortable stay for our disabled guests, and is available on request at no extra charge. We also provide a low profiling bed with special mattress, manual hoist, and basic disability aids including suction grab rails, manual wheeled shower chairs, adjustable height shower stools, and manual toilet surrounds.

As you can see from the photos, taken by Andrew, everything in our lodges is all on one level, and there are no internal thresholds or internal steps. The lodges have been specially designed to allow easy access throughout by wheelchair. All external doors are 880mm wide with threshold heights of 12mm, and all internal doors are 880mm wide. For more information, please visit our Accessibility page.

If you want to stay in our lodges and need the use of our disability aids and equipment, call us to discuss your requirements. I’m happy to answer any questions you may have (that’s me in the red top in the photo!). We try to provide as personal a service as possible to ensure your chosen lodge meets your needs.
