Our last guests in Hawthorn Lodge had a great time. They were here for a couple of weeks, and both needed the use of riser recliner chairs to make them more comfortable. We were able to acquire a large Porter riser recliner chair (capacity 40 stone) on a Sunday morning – thanks to Hwb Mobility in Barry! By Sunday afternoon, it was set up and working with an auxiliary air flow mattress. Andrew at HWB Mobility was so helpful in making it available to us.
The guests have already booked again for 2026, so we must be doing something right!
Our aim from the start was to provide a fully accessible space where families and friends can enjoy a good holiday together. Each lodge has four large ensuite bedrooms, an open-plan living area and a landscaped outdoor entertaining space with a hot tub, so there’s plenty of room for everyone. Awarded a 5-star Grading with Visit Wales, all our accommodation is fully accessible, and we also offer specialist disability equipment to enable disabled guests to enjoy a ‘home from home’ experience.
There’s lots to do locally, and I share reviews on local attractions from the perspective of a disabled visitor, so take a look if good accessibility is essential to your day out.
